Tailscale and Grafana Cloud for your Enterprise Data

Grafana Cloud's Private Data Source Connect (PDC) establishes secure connections to data sources within private networks. Now, with Tailscale integration, PDC becomes even more powerful. Customers who are already using Tailscale can query data sources on their tailnet directly from Grafana Cloud, leveraging their existing secure network infrastructure.

In this talk, you'll see a working demo of how we leverage Tailscale's tsnet Go library to add ephemeral machines to customer tailnets, controlling everything as code. We'll share challenges we faced, such as auth key limitations, choosing ephemeral versus persistent machines, and managing machine lifecycle, and we'll show how Tailscale helped us solve them. The result is a simpler, more secure way to connect private data sources to Grafana Cloud.
